The Honda Motor Company was founded by Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa in Hamamatsu, Japan, in October 1946. The company was incorporated on September 24, 1948 and have been the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and internal combustion engines since 1959. Honda produces more than 14 million engines every year. They also have been the second largest Japanese automobile manufacturer since 2001, second only to Toyota. As of 2011, Honda has been the eighth largest automobile manufacturer in the world, behind GM, VAG, Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan, and PSA.
Honda’s cars are extremely popular for their great gas mileage and affordability. They have also produced legendary sports cars such as the NSX, Integra, and S2000, although these have all since been discontinued.
